Sanford Spivey

Sanford Spivey joined PSL as a business leader in March 2022 and spends most of his time incubating, building, and spinning out venture-scale businesses.

Prior to PSL, Sanford worked for two hardware and software businesses (Latch and Sonos) in the B2B2C and B2C spaces. Joining Latch at the Series A stage, he focused on building products, inorganic growth, hiring efforts, and fundraising leading to an IPO in June 2022. At Sonos, he spent his tenure shipping music products, opening new business lines/markets, building global partnerships, and driving their developer platform efforts - joining at an early growth stage through their IPO. Earlier in his life, Sanford started a shampoo business, “WIFF” spinning out of a school project inspired by the lack of hair products to serve the “beach kid that was always surfing” and fueled his passion for startups.

Sanford attended Boston University’s business school and took as many fun electives as possible, like Alien Worlds and Ancient Archaeology, to satisfy his constant curiosity to learn fun facts and bits of history. While there, he played four years of collegiate Men’s Soccer on the Boston University team as a holding midfielder and center back. Sanford lives with his wife, Elizabeth, in the Queen Anne area of Seattle. He loves to hike, listen to podcasts, rollerblade, munch on snacks, travel, play pranks on his wife, listen to 90’s hip-hop, and read about startups.
